FAA seeks $3.1 million in fines from Boeing over safety violations, 2024 midair panel blowout

The Federal Aviation Administration seeks $3.1 million from Boeing. This is due to safety violations. These violations occurred between September 2023 and February 2024. The violations include the Alaska Airlines incident. A door plug panel blew out mid-flight in January. The FAA identified quality system violations at Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems factories. Boeing is reviewing the proposed penalty.
