Rinku Singh’s gets a new ‘God’s Plan’ tattoo: Know the special story behind this

IPL sensation and Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is back in the limelight and this time not just for the viral phrase ‘God’s Plan‘, but the tattoo which reads this.

The Indian middle-order batsman has got a new tattoo and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on social media with Rinku explaining the story and thought behind this.

The 26-year-old cricketer is a left-handed middle-order batter and part-time off-spin bowler who made his international debut for India in August 2023 against Ireland at The Village. He represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rinku Singh’s story behind ‘God’s plan’ tattoo

It was IPL 2024 title win for Rinku when his reiteration of ‘God’s Plan’ that picked up, having waited seven years to lift the trophy. After the historic win against Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shah Rukh Khan, who is the co-owner of KKR, addressed his players that stole the limelight was when he met with young superstar Rinku Singh.

The two hugged each other tightly and said loudly, “God’s Plan, baby.”

“Everyone knows I have a famous phrase I use, ‘God’s Plan’, and I have got a tattoo of it a few weeks ago. Many people know me because of this too,” Rinku said in the latest video while explaining.

The cricketer went on to explain that his tattoo has a sun around the written phrase and the most important part is that it has the five sixes that he had hit in one of the IPL clashes, taking his team to the finish line.

“The main thing about the this tattoo is the five sixes that I had hit, in the areas that I had hit, that is two on the covers, two straight and one on the leg side. So I thought I’ll get a tattoo on this because here’s where my life changed. People started to know me,” Rinku told BCCI.

In the 2023 edition of the IPL, Rinku Singh hit five sixes in a row off the last five balls of an over to win a match against the Gujarat Titans when KKR needed 29 runs off the final six balls.
