Donald Trump denies claims of bullying his way into Home Alone 2 cameo role

Former US president Donald Trump has denied allegations of bullying made by director Chris Columbus while shooting for the former's cameo in the 1992 film Home Alone 2. Trump made a brief appearance in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York as himself, owner of the Plaza Hotel.

In an interview with Business Insider, director of the film, Chris said that they approached The Plaza Hotel which was owned by Trump and shoot in the lobby, since they could not rebuild the sets. "Trump said OK. We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie. So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we screened it for the first time the oddest thing happened: People cheered when Trump showed up on-screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.’ But he did bully his way into the movie,” Chris was quoted as saying.

However, Trump denied the allegations of bullying and even claimed that he did not want to appear in the film. "I was very busy, and didn’t want to do it. They were very nice, but above all, persistent. I agreed, and the rest is history! That little cameo took off like a rocket, and the movie was a big success, and still is, especially around Christmas time. People call me whenever it is aired."

Home Alone 2 is a Christmas comedy film which is the sequel to the 1990 film Home Alone. The film follows the adventures of Kevin McCallister who is separated from his family during a vacation trip.
