Mumbai schools remain open despite red alert and heavy rainfall

Mumbai

Many Mumbai schools remained open on Monday morning despite the red alert, as they had not received any official intimation from the civic body. While a few schools cancelled classes for pre-primary students, no official decision has been made yet regarding the afternoon sessions.

School bus schedules affected by rains

Heavy traffic and minor waterlogging in areas around Dadar have disrupted school bus schedules. Bus operators have reported possible delays. Some schools in Wadala allowed students to leave early, causing sudden changes in planned bus routes.

“We need parents to be present at the pick-up points. Without them, we cannot let students leave amid these heavy rains. It’s our responsibility to ensure they get home safely, and we are doing our best to coordinate with the parents,” said Ramesh Manian, a school bus operator.
