French Aircraft Manufacturer Airbus has awarded the biggest export order of aircraft door to be manufactured in India. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday (08th February 2024) , Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced the export order along with Airbus India President Remi Maillard (pronounced “my-ard”). The aircraft doors will be produced by Indian aerospace and defence manufacturer Dynamatic Technologies for the Airbus A220 single-aisle aircraft. Mr Scindia said that this is one of the single-largest export contracts for an Indian aerospace manufacturing company. He added that the deal will go a long way in bringing the complete aircraft door-making technology to the Indian aerospace ecosystem.
Dynamatic Technologies CEO Udayant Malhotra said that the doors are already in production and will be delivered to the French plane-maker early next year.
Airbus India President Remi Maillard expressed his delight over the deal and said that this is a major step toward Airbus’s ambition of procuring components and services worth 1.5 billion dollars from India in the coming years.
