Former Indian Kabaddi team capatain and Arjun Award winner Deepak Hooda has announced to enter politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. In a video posted on social media, the Indian Kabaddi star said that he is joining BJP because the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370, constructed Ram Mandir and announced Bharat Ratna for former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Deepak Hooda also praised the Prime Minister for improving sports facilities in the country and starting initiatives like Khelo India and Khelo India University Games. This can be seen as a major political development in Haryana before the 2024 general elections and then state assembly elections in Haryana expected later this year.
