Dense fog conditions to continue in parts of Odisha, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh till tomorrow, says IMD

Last Updated: Dec 28, 2023

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog conditions in parts of Odisha, north Rajasthan, and northwest Madhya Pradesh today and tomorrow. These conditions will also prevail over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during morning hours till the next 3 days. Dense to very dense fog is very likely to continue during night and morning hours in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi for the next 2 days.

In its weather bulletin, the IMD predicts light rainfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha for 3 days from 31st of this month. The IMD said this is due to a fresh Western Disturbance that is likely to affect Northwest India from the 30th, along with its influence and its interaction with lower-level easterly winds. It also predicts light to moderate rainfall over south Tamil Nadu and Kerala for 4 days from the 30th.

The weather agency predicts no significant change in Minimum Temperatures over northwest and east India during the next 4 days and over central India till tomorrow, however, it is expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius thereafter.
