Government has spent 34 lakh crore rupees on development of infrastructure in last nine years, says Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has said that the central government has spent 34 lakh crore rupees on the development of infrastructure in the last nine years. He added this year’s budget 11 lakh crore rupees was allocated for capital expenditure. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, Mr. Shekhawat said that work is underway to modernise five hundred railway stations in the country. He added, that within a thousand days of govt formation in 2014, over eighteen thousand four hundred villages and panchayats were electrified in the country. The Minister stressed that Today, India has the third largest metro rail network in the world.
