IMD says, coldwave conditions to continue over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan during next two days

The India Meteorological Department on Sunday (31st December 2023) said dense to very dense fog is likely to continue over many parts of the plains of Northwest and adjoining Central India during the next 2 days.  The IMD also said Cold wave conditions are likely to continue over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan during the next 2 days.


As per IMD, the minimum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 6-9°C over most parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, north Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.


It will remain in the range of 10-12°C over Delhi, south Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh.


Meanwhile, light rainfall or snowfall is very likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today.


National capital Delhi witnessed moderate to dense fog on New Year’s Eve, causing disruptions in transportation and affecting several trains. As per the Indian railways, as many as 23 trains in the northern region are reported to be running behind schedule.
