Independence Day 2023 was celebrated at HQ Northern Command, Udhampur with great zeal and patriotic fervour. A solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Dhruva War Memorial marked the Independence Day celebrations. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, AVSM, GOC-in-C of the Northern Command, led the commemoration by laying a wreath at the Dhruva War Memorial.
Later, Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi along with Koushalya Devi, wife of Martyr Hav. Kartar Singh of 12 JKLI inaugurated Param Yodha Sthal unveiling Twelve Busts of Param Veer Chakra Awardees who have fought in the Northern Theatre as a Mark of Respect. The Northern Army Commander then hoisted the 52 feet National Flag at Param Yodha Sthal Northern Command Udhampur. Earlier on the Arrival of Army Commander Northern Command visited Dhruva Shaheedi Sathal and Paid Rich Tribute to the Martyrs. On this occasion, Army Officers, Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, NCC Cadets and Students of schools Present on this occasion and feel proud.
