Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today said that a revolutionary step was taken by the Narendra Modi government by introducing the women’s reservation bill, the first one on the first day of new Parliament House.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Thakur said that barely 5 to 10 percent of women are elected in the state assemblies, whereas nearly  5 percent representation is seen in the Lok Sabha. He added that Modi government has brought a bill of 33 percent reservation for women.
