Odisha Legislative Assembly Standing Committee visited Puri Srimandir
Odisha Legislative Assembly Standing Committee-1 visited Srimandir in Puri on Tuesday and initiated discussions about various issues with the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA).
As per reports, the members of the committee had elaborate discussions about the development and security of Srimandir and how to make the darshan arrangement of the devotees more disciplined and streamlined.
The committee also deliberated about various developmental works around the temple with the officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Discussion was also held about the compensation amount to be provided to the ‘Daitapati’ servitors for not allowing entry of devotees atop the chariots during Rath Yatra.

The standing committee also enquired about the money spent under ‘Kotha Bhoga Dhana Yojna’ and made elaborate discussions with SJTA about the steps taken for the smooth management of Srimandir.
“Mainly discussion was held about the security of Srimandir. A proposal has also been given for a special battalion for the security arrangement of the temple,” said Odisha Legislative Assembly Standing Committee-1 chairman Sidhant Mohapatra.
