Bengaluru: Karnataka will construct 100
houses
for the victims of the recent
landslide
in Wayanad, Kerala.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah shared on social media platform ‘X’: “I have assured CM Shri @pinarayivijayan of our support and announced that Karnataka will construct 100 houses for the victims. Together, we will rebuild and restore hope.”
Former Wayanad MP and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi noted that the commitment to building 100 houses is a significant step towards
rehabilitation
efforts.
“The compassion and solidarity of Indians are the strengths that Wayanad needs right now,” he shared on ‘X’. Various industrialists and private firms from the state have extended their support in multiple ways. The Mysuru district administration, along with a team of doctors, has provided essential relief materials, including freezer boxes, compressors, jackhammers, body bags, emergency light systems, stretchers, and medicines. Kempegowda International Airport Limited contributed water bottles, raincoats, sanitizers, tents, PPE kits, gloves, and masks.
Member organisations of the Electronics City Industrial Association, Pranav Foundation, Biocon and Narayana Health have also donated essentials. Ashaya Trust and Utishtha Swayam Seva Organization provided blankets, tarpaulins, ambulances, and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh.

Mollywood superstar Mohanlal visited Wayanad’s Meppadi to support landslide victims, donning his honorary lieutenant colonel uniform. He emphasized unity and resilience during these tough times. Mohanlal had previously donated Rs 25 lakh to the relief fund. Other film stars, including Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan, also contributed to aid efforts for the affected community.
