The government said that the Russia – Ukraine war resulted in an increase in prices of fertilizers and its raw materials at global level. In a reply in Lok Sabha today, Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that the government has ensured availability of fertilizers at reasonable prices by increasing the quantum of subsidies.
He said that the expenditure incurred on the fertilizers subsidy in 2022-23 was over 2 lakh 54 thousand crore rupees. The Minister mentioned that the Centre also facilitated long-term agreements and Joint Ventures to ensure adequate supply of fertilizers.
