In the Tamilnadu International Surf Open World Surf league Qualifying Series 3000 event on 18th August 2023, the players decided in clean, reeling, three foot surf with conditions expected to continue on 19th August 2023.
In the women’s quarterfinals on 18th August 2023, Japan’s Kana Nakashio, Shino Matsuda,Sara Wakita and Sumomo Sato have advanced to the semi finals.
In the Men’s quarterfinals Japan’s Raiha Onou, Tenshi Iwami, Sweden’s Kian Martin, Indonesia’s Ketut Agus advanced to the Semi finals.
