PM Modi will also travel to Austria on July 9-10.”This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Austria in 41 years. He will call on President of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Mr. Alexander Van der Bellen and hold talks with Chancellor of Austria H.E. Mr. Karl Nehammer. Prime Minister and Chancellor will also address business leaders from India and Austria,” the release added. PM Modi will also hold interaction with members of the Indian community in Moscow and Vienna.First bilateral visit since Ukraine conflictModi’s visit to Russia will mark his first bilateral visit to the country since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.During the two-day trip, PM Modi is expected to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, focusing on key areas such as regional and global security. The visit is particularly notable as it follows the annual India-Russia summit format, which has been on hold for the past three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the evolving international situation.The last in-person bilateral meeting between PM Modi and President Putin took place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in September 2022.
