The contingent also consisted of Swpanil Kusale, Aman Sehrawat and Sarabjot Singh who were spotted during the felicitation at the PM’s residence.PM Modi meets Indian contingentWith India celebrating its 78th Independence Day just days after the culmination of the Paris Olympics 2024, India’s prime minister seized the occasion to meet the athletes. India won six medals at the Paris Games and got deprived of a seventh after Manu Bhaker was disqualified. The six medals include one silver and five bronze medals.India won bronze medals in the women’s 10m air pistol event in the form of Manu Bhaker while she would later pair with Sarabjot Singh to win a bronze medal in the team’s 10m air pistol. Manu missed a third medal when she finished fourth in the 25m air pistol event. India’s third medal was clinched by Swapnil Kusale who won bronze in 50 metre rifle three positions.India added three medals in the final week when the men’s hockey team won bronze and Aman Sehrawat added the same colour. The nation’s finest achievement at the Paris Games was the silver medal with Neeraj Chopra finishing on the podium.During the felicitation, PM Modi posed with the hockey team with a stick while shooter Manu had a gun in hand.Neeraj Chopra skips eventInterestingly, Neeraj Chopra was absent during the felicitation and skipped the event as he is away in Germany. The Indian star traveled to Germany after the Paris Olympics to undergo surgery for an injury.
