Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 owners may have to wait a while longer for the WearOS 5 update as Google is still trying to address the issues.
According to a post on the Pixel Watch Help forum, Google said it’s aware of issues impacting Pixel Watch and Watch 2 devices and has paused the WearOS 5 update.
“We plan to resume the WearOS 5 rollout to these devices later this year, once we’ve mitigated the observed issues, and will share additional updates with our community as they become available,” the company said.
Per Android Authority, issues include smartwatches getting stuck on a blank screen following the update.
However, those already impacted by the bug have some recourse. Google suggests those stuck on a blank screen try pressing-and-holding the crown on the Pixel Watch for three seconds. That should trigger a screen with an option to restart. If that doesn’t fix the problem, users can hard reset their watch by pressing the crown and side button for about 35 seconds until the white ‘G’ logo appears. After this, the watch should restart and work once again.
